Our History

Taco Tico first arrived in Lexington in 1974. By 1981, a total of 15 Taco Ticos opened across Kentucky.

Locations popped up from the Dixie Highway in Louisville to Trademark Shopping Center in Corbin to Shoppers Village in Winchester along with other locations in Lexington, Bowling Green, Danville, Richmond, Frankfort and Versailles.

Our goals today are that of the original locations: to deliver the finest and freshest products with that unique Taco Tico Taste while providing a one of a kind experience that energizes everyone with an enthusiastic welcome, exceptional service and an unforgettable time.

In 2019, Greer Companies purchased both existing Kentucky locations: the Boardwalk location in Lexington and the Terry Road location in Louisville.

Our team looks forward to writing our own local Taco Tico history in Kentucky as the brand comes back to life and to a location near you!
